Where do the numbers come from?

We calculated the numbers from the official results of the biggest Budapest races. Only the net times and the runners’ gender were used, aggregated and without names or personal data. Your place is estimated from your time against the distribution of finishers.

The field here means the finishers of these races, not all runners: people who enter races are usually fitter than average, but big festivals also bring many beginners to the finish. The Budapest races have many international runners too.
